Stainless Steel Handrail

Stainless Steel Handrail around a window well

Most of the new construction I see has very large window wells to let more light into the basement.  This is a good thing, but what options do you have to comply with local building codes and keep your property safe while keeping up the atheistics of your home. These stainless steel handrails were made for a Denver Colorado home. They comply with municipal codes and really finish the area that is both appealing and low maintenance.

                                                                                   Concrete form Window Well

Window well covers are another great way to close off those large window wells but still allow the maximum amount of light through your basement window.  The window well featured above is securely bolted to the foundation. This give your home an added security level by not allowing any access from the outside.  The window well cover also has an escape hatch that only opens from the inside.  A hatch in combination with an escape ladder or window well latter allows anyone form the inside to climb out in the event of an emergency.

                                                                                   Standard Window Well

Alot of existing and new construction homes use a preformed window well.  This image illustrates a solution for a standard window well.  This cover can be locked down to add security or can just be set ontop of the the preformed window well to keep pets and bunnies out of your well.  Believe it or not I build alot of these covers to keep bunnies out.  this well cover can support a grown man, so do not have any fears that its going to be flimsy or week.  The finish can be galvanized, paint or powdercoat.   If your looking into having a one of these solutions for your window well, contact palehorsemetalfabrication.com

Custom Stair Stringer in Denver Home

Custom Steel Stair Stringers

Friday saw the installation of some custom steel stair stringer in a Lodo Home in Downtown Denver, Colorado.   Pale Horse Metal Fabrication designed these stringers to be installed before the flooring to conceal all the hardware and provide a seamless look.  These stingers were polished and powdercoated clear for a great modern look.  Temp treads were installed while construction continues.  Custom made white oak treads will be installed later.  In the mean time Pale Horse Metal Fab will be building the handrails to add ontop of the stringers.

Denver Home gets Custom Address Numbers

Pale Horse Metal Fabrication built this custom Address Plate for a new Denver home.  The frame and numbers are made from steel and then black waxed.  The numbers where plasma cut and then welded to posts to make them standout off the background.  A custom patina was applied to the copper and then it was laminated to the back plate.  Hidden screws anchor this piece to the wall.  Grout was then applied around the piece to weather proof.

Pale Horse Fabrication Helps Local Highlands Ranch Student with Senior Project

A couple weeks ago Ben Brewer form a Local Highlands Ranch High School called me for some help on his Senior Project.  Ben had chosen welding for his topic, and was to research and create a project for his class.  Ben decided that he wanted to build a chair and so the following is what we made.  Ben chose the design and style for the metal chair and we cut all the steel and welded it up in a few hours. Once welded we polished it up with a wire brush and it was ready for paint.  Thanks Ben, it was alot of fun.
